Matzoh Balls from Scratch

When I was a little kid all of the little old German ladies would get very competitive over who had the superior matzoh balls at our Seder. I made the mistake of actually voicing my opinion once and had half a dozen "Ilses' and Elses'" (as every last one of them was oddly named) go ballistic.

In reality it was my mother's recipe that was the best. A transplant from San Francisco my mother added ginger and scallions to what can be a rather bland affair.

I added a bit of my own to my mother's recipe by whipping the whites and yolks separately then folding them into the dry mixture. I can't find the file with my recipe but here is the process done in photos. The final frame is a bit of passover art done by yours truly...
